Introduction

Normally, Christmas party is prepared by teachers in our school, but this year teachers want students to do it by themselves in order that they can practice their English in real world.

Learners

This activity is designed for primary school learners (EFL). They will be motivated to do the activity because of the Christmas Party.

However, this activity also can be modified to suit any English party of Primary school

The Process

Teacher should be a controller of this activity. Although some links have been given to the students for searching some materials, before carrying on their task, they should have basic knowledge to open the link and to find sites relating to these subjects. Also, students should know of some skills to do the oral reports in order that they can handle the presentation easily.

This lesson is intended to take 4 classes to introduce the activity, research, discussion and oral work.  Length of time may be shortened or lengthened as needed depending on circumstances.  Tell the students how much time they have to process. Before students begin research, discuss the evaluation section with them. It will help direct their tasks.

Evaluation

                                                                                 evaluation

The task is assessed on excellent, good, satisfied and needing help basis. But you may give students a little bit higher score than their actual ability level because students especially children need to be encouraged.

Conclusion

conclusion
The main aim of this activity is to allow the students to develop their abilities from the following areas: research skills, collaboration and presentation.

It is helpful in helping students develop their skills of using Internet. This will be also valuable in helping students work together to finish their tasks. In addition, they have to use cooperative learning skills to organize their oral presentation.

In general, this is also a big task for children because it is related to research, group work, reading and speaking. But the students have the opportunity to design the Christmas party by themselves, which motivate the English study of them.
